A Retrospective of 2009

This is a really interesting and well written article about what this man thinks 2009 will be like. He writes the article as if 2009 has already ended.

It takes a fun viewpoint, but it is pretty long...

It's always interesting to view these attempts at what I call "future hindsight", or efforts to look at events of the present from the perspective of the future. It's a game that many of us play, including even our Founding Fathers (many of the Founders were concerned how posterity would view them and attempted to behave accordingly).

I'd be interested to see if is a "future hindsight" retrospective written about the year 2008 back in 2007...

This sort of article reminds me of something we read in AP Bio. It was a letter from the Farmer in Chief addressed to the new president, Barack Obama, in hopes of raising awareness about the current agricultural status of the United States. For some peculiar reason, it seems like many things are being thoroughly thought through recently. Have we honestly been scarred by the Bush Administration/economic decline? Are we doing everything in our power to recognize our faults and end them immediately? It's rather interesting.
